Senior Software Engineer - Fintech

Our client, a rapidly growing and innovative Fin Tech company, is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join their dynamic technology team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in South Africa while contributing to the development of cutting-edge financial solutions. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying robust, scalable, and secure software systems that power our next-generation financial platforms.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in backend development, a deep understanding of microservices architecture, and a passion for tackling complex technical challenges in the financial services industry. You will collaborate with a talented team of engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver high-quality software products.

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using (Specify Language/Framework, e.g., Python/Django, Java/Spring Boot, Node.js/Express).
• Architect and implement microservices-based solutions, ensuring high availability and fault tolerance.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, adhering to coding best practices and standards.
• Collaborate with front-end developers and product managers to define API requirements and integrate user-facing elements.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and ensuring code quality.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and security.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex issues across the technology stack.
• Contribute to technical design discussions and architectural decisions.
• Mentor junior engineers and share technical expertise within the team.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on backend development.
• Proven experience designing and building scalable microservices architectures.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Go, C#) and associated frameworks.
• Strong understanding of database technologies (e.g., SQL, No

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing methodologies.
