Remote Automotive Software Test Engineer

This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from any location within South Africa. You will be instrumental in ensuring the highest quality of our client's automotive software products, including infotainment systems, connected car services, and diagnostic tools.

• Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for automotive software applications.
• Execute manual and automated tests for software features, functionalities, and performance.
• Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking systems (e.g., JIRA).
• Collaborate closely with software developers to understand requirements and resolve reported issues.
• Perform regression testing to ensure bug fixes do not introduce new problems.
• Test software on various simulated and actual automotive hardware platforms.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and tools.
• Participate in agile development ceremonies and contribute to team planning.
• Analyze test results and provide detailed reports on software quality and stability.
• Ensure all testing activities align with project timelines and quality objectives.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in software testing, with a focus on automotive software.
• Proven experience in designing and executing test cases for complex software systems.
• Familiarity with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium, Robot Framework).
• Experience testing embedded systems and mobile applications is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, TCP/IP) is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
