Sr Engineer, Software Engineering - ServiceNow Platform Admin

you are critical in the day to day management of the platform for Nationwide that includes

• Managing, configuring and maintaining the platform's stability, access, and workflows.
• Management of the SDLC process including the management of update sets, environment deployment and implementations. Cloning of environments from production to the lower environments
• Identifying and applying upgrades, patches and plugins
• Instrumental in the management of the mid-servers and integrations (including APIs) with other applications including discovery and event
• Key resource for license management and developing strategies for managing license usage, removing inactive entitlements, proactive monitoring to ensure licensing is not exceeded

• Creation and updating UI policies, client scripts, business rules, and workflows to align the system with organizational needs.
• Access & Security Management:
  Manage user accounts, roles, groups, and Access Control Lists (ACLs) to ensure secure data handling.
• Troubleshooting including diagnosing platform errors, and assist developers with advanced configurations.

This role can also include development and deploying enterprise applications using the Service Now platform.

• Platform Development:
  Building scoped applications, custom workflows, and tailored modules within the Service Now environment.

• Testing & Debugging:
  Perform unit testing, regression testing, and User Access Testing (UAT).
• Collaboration:
  
  Work alongside stakeholders, business analysts, and process owners to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

• Certification:
  Certified System Administrator (CSA) credential.
• Experience:
  
  1–3+ years handling day-to-day Service Now administration.
• Technical
  
  Skills:
  
  Foundational understanding of JavaScript, ITIL frameworks, and relational databases.
• Frameworks/Standards:
  Experience with Angular, React, or similar modern UI frameworks.
• Platform Knowledge:
  Hands-on experience with core Service Now domains (e.g., ITSM, HRSD, ITOM, CSM).
• Process Knowledge:
  Solid understanding of ITIL framework and Dev Sec Ops  principles.
• Soft Skills:
  
  Problem-solving ability, clear communication, and agile mindset.

The preferred working arrangement for the role is a hybrid model, with a few days per week in the Columbus, OH office. However, remote work arrangements will be considered for candidates located outside the Columbus area.

This role does not qualify for employer-sponsored work authorization. Nationwide does not participate in the Stem OPT Extension program.
