Remote Lead Software Architect - Cloud Solutions

Our client, a forward-thinking technology leader, is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Remote Lead Software Architect to drive the design and evolution of their cutting-edge cloud solutions. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa. You will be instrumental in defining the technical vision, architectural principles, and technology stack for our cloud-native platforms.

This role demands a deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices, cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP), and modern software development practices. • Define and champion the overall software architecture for cloud-based products and services.
• Lead the design and development of scalable, reliable, and secure microservices architectures.
• Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools for cloud solutions.
• Mentor and guide software engineering teams, fostering best practices in design and coding.
• Collaborate with product management and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Oversee the implementation of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC) practices.
• Ensure the adoption of security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Drive innovation by exploring emerging technologies and architectural patterns.
• Contribute to technical documentation, architectural reviews, and knowledge sharing initiatives.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years in a software architecture or lead engineering role.
• Proven experience designing and building large-scale, distributed systems in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Deep understanding of microservices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and API design.
• Expertise in at least one major programming language (e.g., Java, Python, Go, C#).
• Strong knowledge of database technologies (SQL and No

• Excellent understanding of Dev Ops principles and CI/CD practices.
• Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and influence technical teams in a remote setting.
