Remote Automotive Software Engineer - ADAS Development

Our client, a pioneer in automotive technology, is expanding its engineering team and seeking a talented Remote Automotive Software Engineer specializing in Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS). This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute from anywhere in South Africa. • Design, develop, and test embedded software for ADAS features, including lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware engineers, system architects, safety experts) to define software requirements and specifications.
• Implement robust and efficient algorithms for sensor fusion, perception, and control systems.
• Participate in code reviews, ensuring code quality, maintainability, and adherence to coding standards.
• Develop and maintain software tools and frameworks for simulation, testing, and validation of ADAS functionalities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues in development and production environments.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes and methodologies in a remote setting.
• Document software designs, implementations, and test procedures thoroughly.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in embedded software development, with a focus on C/C++.
• Demonstrable experience with ADAS development or related fields (e.g., robotics, computer vision, control systems).
• Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, Automotive Ethernet).
• Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS).
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, Agile methodologies, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively manage time in a remote environment.
