Location: New York
Crowbar is looking for a full time gameplay programmer. Applicants should have experience in development with C++, creating 3D interactive games, gameplay systems, and artificial intelligence. We are not just looking for someone to complete a to-do list, but also understand the core design of our game, as well as be an integral part of the team. Candidates will be expected to collaborate with the art and design departments to improve gameplay, game features, and final game quality.
They'll also be expected to complete multiple iterations of systems to suit both code and design requirements.
- Able to engineer high quality 3D games using C++ and Unreal Engine 5
- Implement game functionality as per game design document
- Design, create, implement, debug, and refine gameplay features and game mechanics
- Able to make system that are editable by designers without support from an engineer (scripts, Blueprints, etc.)
- Proactively problem solve performance and stability issues
- Experience in P2P multiplayer games and network code
- Use of Discord for communication
- Must be in a country with a US tax treaty
- Excellent communication, time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Proficient remote work habits and the ability to work in an independent or self-directed manner
- 3+ years experience in software development engineering on gameplay teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent training and professional experience.
- $60,000/yr starting
