POSITION OVERVIEW:
Harvest Strategy Group is seeking a Software Engineer to join our technology team, reporting to the Chief Technology Officer. This role is intended for a candidate who can help modernize the systems that support Harvest’s debt placement, receivables management, compliance oversight, client implementations, and internal operations.
Harvest’s technology environment is in the midst of an active transition from an established, on-premises platform to a modern, cloud-based architecture, including a move to a new SaaS-based account management platform. This role will help stabilize and extend the existing environment while building integrations, data pipelines, and internal tools that allow the business to move from legacy processes to scalable, well-documented cloud-based workflows.
The ideal candidate has strong coding, engineering, and data-processing judgment, is comfortable using AI-assisted development tools to work efficiently without sacrificing understanding or code quality and is genuinely curious to learn Harvest's business and industry.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain, support, and troubleshoot components of Harvest's legacy technology environment, including C#/.NET applications, Power Shell scripts, SQL Server databases, ETL processes, and Visual Cron scheduled jobs.
- Support the ongoing transition to the company’s new SaaS-based account management platform, including data migration, system integration, validation, reconciliation, and process re-engineering.
- Contribute to the build-out of Harvest’s cloud-based data management infrastructure in Microsoft Azure, with attention to data quality, security, reliability, auditability, and maintainability.
- Design and build integrations connecting legacy and modern systems throughout the transition period, including APIs, file-based exchanges, scheduled jobs, data transformations, and monitoring needed to support business continuity.
- Develop backend services and, on occasion, front-end interfaces in support of internal tools and client-facing systems.
- Create and maintain high-quality, well-structured code — including thoughtful use of AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery without sacrificing data integrity or architectural soundness — from development through deployment.
- Perform rigorous developer testing — including unit, integration, and regression testing as appropriate — before releasing changes to production.
- Diagnose and resolve production issues quickly and effectively to minimize downtime, data-processing disruption, client impact, and operational risk.
- Collaborate closely with other software engineers, the Client Implementation, Compliance, Business Operations, and IT Operations teams, and the CTO to prioritize and deliver technical initiatives, and to establish and maintain consistent coding standards, design patterns, naming conventions, and documentation guidelines across the team.
