AI Software Developer

Idea Tek is looking for an AI Software Developer to build and deploy internal software solutions using AI-assisted development tools as a core part of the development process. This is a hands-on role for an experienced developer who knows how to use AI to accelerate coding, testing, debugging, and deployment while applying strong technical judgment to validate the quality of the output.

You’ll work directly with managers and business stakeholders to understand needs, determine priorities, and quickly turn ideas into usable solutions. The environment is agile, flexible, and highly iterative—you’ll be expected to move quickly, adapt as requirements evolve, and streamline the development lifecycle.

Your day may begin with a conversation with a manager or stakeholder to understand a business problem or new software need. From there, you’ll define the approach, use AI-assisted development tools to build an initial solution, test the output, and iterate based on feedback.

Throughout the day, you may be developing a new internal tool, enhancing an existing application, validating AI-generated code, troubleshooting an integration, or working directly with a stakeholder to refine requirements. You’ll balance speed with sound technical judgment—knowing when an AI-generated solution is ready to move forward and when it needs further review or refinement.

This isn’t a role built around long development cycles or rigid processes. You’ll be trusted to prioritize, experiment, iterate, and deliver practical solutions that solve real business problems.

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop, test, and deploy software solutions using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude to accelerate coding, debugging, testing, and delivery
• Apply software development experience and technical judgment to review, validate, and improve AI-generated outputs before deployment.
• Work directly with stakeholders to understand business needs, clarify requirements, and rapidly prototype, iterate, and deploy practical software solutions as priorities evolve
• Enhance internal applications, workflows, automations, and integrations.
• Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and implement timely fixes or improvements.
• Collaborate with internal developers, business teams, and third-party partners as needed.
• Maintain appropriate documentation for developed solutions, integrations, and workflows.
• Continuously evaluate new AI development tools and techniques that can improve speed, quality, or efficiency.

To be considered for this role, you’ll need the following required qualifications:

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Hands-on experience with Claude or similar AI development tools

• Experience integrating applications with third-party systems or APIs
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in agile, iterative environments and explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Experience working directly with stakeholders to understand business needs.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate multiple approaches and determine practical solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to own and deliver assigned work with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience identifying opportunities to apply AI to improve internal processes or business operations.
• Telecommunications, fiber, or technology industry experience.
