This position has been approved to be Full Telework.

• If telework is approved, you are required to work within the State of California only and if Partial Telework, also come in to the Main Office in Orange, CA, at least two (2) days per week minimum.

The ITS Architect III (Mule Soft Integration) will be responsible for designing and delivering enterprise integration solutions that enable seamless connectivity across Cal Optima Health's digital ecosystem. You will focus on the strategic architecture, implementation, and optimization of the Mule Soft Anypoint Platform and related integration technologies to support secure, scalable, and high-performance data and application integration. You will lead the design of Application Programming Interface (API) led connectivity, integration frameworks, and reusable services that enable real-time and batch data exchange between core systems.

You will ensure integration solutions align with standards, policies, and requirements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define integration strategies, evaluate middleware solutions, and drive adoption of best practices in API management, event-driven architecture, and cloud integration. You will also guide technical teams, influence architectural decisions, and ensure consistency across integration initiatives while supporting governance, vendor management, and continuous improvement efforts.

• Assists the team in carrying out department responsibilities and collaborates with others to support short- and long-term goals/priorities for the department.
• Serves as subject matter expert (SME) and leads the design and implementation of enterprise integration solutions using Mule Soft Anypoint Platform, ensuring scalability, reusability, and security.
• Defines and maintains enterprise integration architecture, including API-led connectivity (System, Process, and Experience APIs).
• Provides architectural integration across Salesforce/CRM, data warehouses, claims systems, member/provider portals, and external partner systems.
• Establishes integration standards, API governance models, and best practices for development, deployment, and lifecycle management.
• Designs and implements secure REST/SOAP APIs, event-driven architectures, and batch integration patterns.
• Provides technical leadership and oversight to development teams implementing Mule Soft integrations and APIs.
• Collaborates cross-functionally with IT teams, enterprise architects, security teams, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment between integration, data, and application architectures.
