Senior Software Architect

Our client, a rapidly expanding software development house located in Mossel Bay, Western Cape, ZA , is seeking an accomplished Senior Software Architect . This role is instrumental in guiding the design and development of innovative software solutions that meet complex business needs. You will collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to define software architecture, select appropriate technologies, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable applications.

• Design and architect scalable, high-performance software applications and systems.
• Lead the technical design process, from requirements gathering to solution delivery.
• Define architectural standards, patterns, and best practices for software development.
• Select appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools for new projects.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure successful implementation of architectural designs.
• Mentor and guide junior software engineers and architects.
• Conduct code reviews and provide technical feedback.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and assess their applicability to business needs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and methodologies.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a software architect role.
• Proven experience in designing and building complex, scalable web applications and services.
• Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#, JavaScript).
• Strong understanding of architectural patterns (e.g., Microservices, MVC, Event-Driven).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of database design and optimization (SQL and No

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
