Senior Automotive Software Engineer

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Automotive Software Engineer to join their innovative and fully remote engineering team. This role is central to the development of next-generation in-car infotainment systems and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying robust software solutions that enhance the automotive user experience and safety. The position demands deep technical expertise in embedded systems, C/C++, and real-time operating systems, along with a strong understanding of automotive communication protocols.

• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in C/C++ and other relevant programming languages.
• Develop and maintain real-time operating systems (RTOS) for embedded automotive platforms.
• Implement and optimize automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to define software requirements and integrate software with hardware components.
• Develop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and system tests to ensure software quality and reliability.
• Debug and resolve software defects and performance issues.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Contribute to the definition of software architecture and design patterns.
• Mentor junior software engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in automotive software development.
• Work effectively within a remote team environment, utilizing collaboration tools and methodologies.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in automotive software development.
• Proficiency in C/C++ programming for embedded systems.
• Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) like QNX, OSEK, or AUTOSAR.
• Strong understanding of automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
• Experience with software development tools (compilers, debuggers, IDEs) and version control systems (Git).
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to thrive in a remote setting.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks and debugging techniques.
