Senior Software Developer - Cloud Platforms

Our client, a dynamic technology firm in Randburg , Gauteng, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Developer specializing in Cloud Platforms. This hybrid role offers the chance to design, develop, and deploy scalable cloud-native applications and services, working both on-site and remotely. You will be instrumental in architecting robust solutions on leading cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), implementing CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring the performance, security, and reliability of our cloud infrastructure.

• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable, high-performance cloud-native applications and microservices.
• Architect and implement solutions on major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Develop and manage robust CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment processes.
• Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Cloud Formation.
• Ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of cloud environments and applications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production and development environments.
• Collaborate with product managers, QA engineers, and other developers to define project requirements and deliver features.
• Mentor junior software developers and conduct code reviews to maintain high-quality standards.
• Stay abreast of emerging cloud technologies and industry best practices.
• Contribute to technical architecture decisions and technology selection.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 6 years of professional software development experience, with at least 3 years focused on cloud platforms.
• Proficiency in at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and associated services.
• Strong experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Expertise in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Go, Node.js).
• Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful API design.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD principles and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git Lab CI, Azure Dev Ops).
• Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
