Senior Full Stack Developer; Node.js​/React

Our client, a pioneering tech firm specializing in SaaS solutions for the education sector, is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Full Stack Developer to join their fully remote team. This position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere in South Africa. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying robust web applications, contributing to both frontend and backend development using Node.js

• Design, develop, and implement scalable backend services using Node.js and relevant frameworks (e.g., Express.js).
• Develop and maintain user-facing features using React and modern JavaScript.
• Integrate frontend components with backend services and third-party APIs.
• Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-documented code across the full stack.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and responsiveness.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define requirements and deliver features.
• Participate in code reviews, offering and receiving constructive feedback to ensure code quality.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues across the application stack.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical roadmap planning.
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
• Implement and maintain automated tests for both frontend and backend components.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in full-stack web development.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and Node.js for backend development.
• Extensive experience with React for frontend development.
• Solid understanding of state management libraries (e.g., Redux, Context API) and modern frontend build tools.
• Experience with database technologies such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar.
• Familiarity with RESTful API design and implementation.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is highly advantageous.
• Proficiency with version control systems, specifically Git.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to development.
• Strong communication skills, comfortable working in a remote, asynchronous environment.
