Lead Software Engineer

Half craft, half stubbornness, our Lead Software Engineer role asks you to make Flask systems behave under pressure they were never promised. A temporary Lead Software Engineer role that values ownership over busywork, pays $145,000 - $216,000, and invests in your long-term growth.

• Own the deeply technical edge cases in Capital Partners's Java billing nobody else wants to touch
• Drive adoption of best practices in testing, security, and observability
• Document the Google Cloud system so the next lead engineer onboards in days, not weeks
• Profile Empathy memory use and chase down the leaks crashing Annapolis nodes
• Respond to on-call rotations and participate in incident postmortems

• Solid Jest grounding, plus JavaScript you can pick up on the fly
• Storytelling instincts that turn data into a decision
• Hands-on command of Professionalism, with JavaScript as a close second
• A collaborative mindset and genuine enthusiasm for teamwork
• A writer's ear for tone in a high-stakes email
• The grit to debug at 4pm on a Friday without complaint
• Demonstrated knack for making the endlessly-iterating feel manageable

We started Capital Partners in an Annapolis garage because the technology status quo deserved a learning-obsessed reckoning. We believe great PostgreSQL work comes from people who feel safe to experiment and occasionally fail.

Your package includes $145,000 - $216,000, premium healthcare, and a generous home-office allowance for our distributed team.

As of this visit, Capital Partners is actively reviewing for the Lead Software Engineer role.
