Position: Team Tech Lead – KYC / BSA/AML Technology
This role is four days onsite at our Seneca One Buffalo, NY location, with the flexibility to work from home one day per week Position Summary The Team Tech Lead is the senior technical leader and engineering quality steward for an Agile delivery team supporting KYC and BSA/AML technology solutions.

The Lead provides technical direction across application development, data engineering, system integration, and platform modernization. The role guides architecture and design decisions, establishes engineering standards, mentor engineers, helps resolve complex technical challenges, and ensures solutions are secure, scalable, supportable, and aligned with M&T technology standards.

Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership & Solution Design Provide technical leadership for KYC and BSA/AML applications, data platforms, integrations, and services.

Apply technical expertise within Know Your Customer (KYC) and Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering (BSA/AML) technology environments.

Provide technical leadership  application development, services, APIs, and microservices.

Lead the design, development, and optimization of SSIS-based data integration solutions, SQL Server Databases and enterprise data pipelines.

Translate business, regulatory, and operational requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Guide solution design and implementation, evaluate technical approaches and clearly communicate trade-offs involving performance, scalability, maintainability, security, resiliency, and complexity.

Partner with enterprise Architecture, infrastructure/platform teams, Product Owners, and other Leads on solutions and dependencies that span multiple teams.

Conduct and guide architecture, design, and code reviews for complex changes.

Mentor developers in modern development practices and service-oriented architecture.

Establish and enforce appropriate code-review, branching, testing, and deployment practices.

Drive improvements in automated testing, code quality, technical documentation, and engineering controls.

Proactively identify and manage technical debt.

Demonstrate proficiency with AI-assisted development tools and promote their responsible use across the software-development lifecycle.

Identify opportunities and apply AI tools where appropriate to accelerate software development, unit-test development, troubleshooting, code analysis, and technical documentation.

Lead investigation and resolution of complex issues across application components in production and other environments including root-cause analysis and performance optimization.

Identify opportunities and provide technical leadership to simplify legacy implementations, reduce operational risk, and improve maintainability.

Work with engineering and support teams to strengthen application resiliency, monitoring, recoverability, and operational readiness.

Education and Experience

Required:

A combined minimum of 9 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 4 years’ engineering and/or architecture experience and 3 years leadership  / C# developmentSSIS development and supportSQL ServerREST APIs and microservices

Education and Experience Preferred:
