Senior Full-Stack Developer; React & Node.js

Our client, a dynamic startup revolutionizing the e-commerce space, is looking for a talented Senior Full-Stack Developer to join their innovative team in Stellenbosch, Western Cape . This hybrid role combines the best of both worlds, offering opportunities for in-office collaboration and brainstorming sessions at our modern Stellenbosch hub, alongside the flexibility of remote work. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying both front-end and back-end components of our cutting-edge web applications.

We are seeking a developer with a strong proficiency in modern JavaScript frameworks, particularly React for the front-end and Node.js for the back-end, coupled with a deep understanding of building scalable and performant applications. You will work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to bring new features to life and enhance existing functionalities, playing a key role in shaping our product's technical direction.

• Develop and maintain responsive, user-friendly front-end interfaces using React.
• Build and optimize robust, scalable back-end services and APIs using Node.js.
• Design and manage databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB) to support application functionality.
• Collaborate with designers to translate UI/UX designs into functional code.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code for both front-end and back-end.
• Implement and manage automated testing, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and performance issues.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technology selection.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in full-stack development.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in full-stack web development.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Extensive experience with React.js and its ecosystem.
• Proven experience with Node.js and frameworks like Express.js.
• Experience with relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or No
  
  SQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
• Familiarity with RESTful API design principles.
• Experience with version control systems (Git).
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Experience working in a hybrid remote/on-site model.
