• Design and architect scalable, resilient, and high-performance software systems.
• Define technical standards, best practices, and architectural patterns.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to software development teams.
• Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies and tools for development.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into architectural designs.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks and dependencies.
• Oversee the implementation of architectural solutions, ensuring adherence to design principles.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure code quality and maintainability.
• Contribute to strategic technology planning and roadmap development.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in software development, with at least 3-5 years in a software architect or lead role.
• Proven experience designing and implementing complex, large-scale software systems.
• Deep understanding of various architectural styles (e.g., microservices, event-driven).
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages and technologies (e.g., Java, Python, C#, cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong knowledge of database design, distributed systems, and API design.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to lead and inspire technical teams in a remote setting.
• Experience in the Polokwane or Limpopo tech scene is a plus but not required for this remote role.
• A strong understanding of security best practices.
