We are hiring a Junior Software QA Engineer on behalf of our client. This is a fully remote, paid position for motivated individuals looking to build their careers in Software Quality Assurance and Software Testing
.
The successful candidate will work closely with developers and product managers to test web and mobile applications, identify and document software defects, and help ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable products.
Key Responsibilities- Execute manual, functional, and regression testing for web and mobile applications.
- Review business and technical requirements and translate them into detailed test cases and test scenarios.
- Plan and execute test cases and accurately document testing results.
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects using issue-tracking tools.
- Perform regression testing to ensure new updates and fixes do not negatively impact existing functionality.
- Re-test resolved defects and verify that issues have been successfully fixed.
- Collaborate closely with developers and product managers to investigate, reproduce, and resolve software issues.
- Perform exploratory and usability testing when required.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to QA activities throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Contribute to improving QA processes, test documentation, and overall product quality.
- Assist in identifying potential quality risks and areas that require additional testing.
- Maintain clear and organized QA documentation and test reports.
- 1+ year of experience in software testing or QA is preferred.
- Good knowledge of software testing methodologies and QA principles.
- Solid understanding of manual testing and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Experience creating and executing test cases and test scenarios.
- Experience with defect reporting and issue-tracking tools such as Jira or similar platforms.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of SQL and databases.
- Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Familiarity with testing web and mobile applications.
- Basic knowledge of API testing and tools such as Postman is a plus.
- Ability to analyze requirements and identify potential edge cases and testing scenarios.
- Familiarity with regression, exploratory, functional, and usability testing.
