Director of Engineering

We are hiring a Director of Engineering who can balance speed and stability while shipping software used by millions. With ownership, a $190,000 - $292,000 salary, and 10 years of RabbitMQ to draw on, you'll do your best work at Paramount.

• Reverse-engineer the employee-centric Facilitation format Paramount inherited and never documented
• Spot the builder-led Rust anti-pattern in review before it spreads through Paramount
• Ship MySQL fixes to Paramount customers in Miami, FL the same day they report them
• Decide when to buy MySQL versus build it for Paramount's Miami, FL stack
• Architect fault-tolerant distributed systems leveraging Agile and RabbitMQ
• Keep MySQL schemas backward-compatible so Paramount never forces a breaking upgrade
• Translate clarity-seeking business requirements into technical specifications and tasks

• Director-caliber judgment about when to elevate and when to absorb
• Sharp organizational skills and an ability to juggle multiple work streams
• A communicator who writes the meeting recap nobody asked for but everyone reads
• Demonstrated Terraform expertise in a fast-moving technology environment
• The discipline to document while it's fresh, not after it's forgotten
• A point of view on Paramount's space, sharpened by your own reading
• A FL work history, or strong reasons you'll thrive here anyway

The feedback-driven team behind Paramount chose Miami on purpose, betting that great technology work doesn't need a coastal zip code. We celebrate the person who asks the dumb question that saves the whole technology project.

We combine $190,000 - $292,000 with flexible remote work, paid volunteer days, and clear opportunities for advancement.
