Simple Tiger is hiring a part-time contract web developer to build, improve, and troubleshoot client websites in Word Press and Hub Spot, with the potential to grow into a larger role.
We’re a B2B SaaS marketing agency helping software companies grow through SEO, content marketing, paid media, and answer engine optimization (AEO). Our clients’ websites are where much of that work comes to life, and we’re looking for a developer who can turn ideas into clean, functional pages quickly.
As part of our delivery team, you’ll work primarily on client websites, translating designs, campaign concepts, and SEO recommendations into effective web experiences. From building new pages to fixing issues on existing sites, you’ll help turn our marketing strategy into work that’s ready to launch.
Key responsibilities- Build, update, or troubleshoot client websites in Word Press and Hub Spot CMS
- Make technical fixes and improvements to live client sites, with clear details on what was tested, implemented, and performance comparisons using tools like Screaming Frog, pagespeed insights, and Lighthouse
- Build and connect forms, lead routing, and simple automations between a site and the client’s marketing tools
- Set up and check tracking, like GA4, Google Tag Manager, and Hub Spot tracking in Tandem with the SEO Manager
- Keep sites fast, accessible, and friendly to SEO (page speed, Core Web Vitals, clean markup, image optimizations, cache lifetime improvements, and so on)
- Write clear and timely notes on what you are actively working on, and any updates pushed live so our team and the client can follow along
- You’re a hands-on developer who can build from scratch, troubleshoot existing sites, and make improvements without disrupting what’s already working.
- Word Press development:
Strong experience with custom themes, child themes, blocks, page builders, and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF). You can build a page from the ground up—not just edit an existing one. - Hub Spot CMS development:
Strong experience with HubL templates, modules, and themes, including building and troubleshooting pages, forms, and email templates. - Front-end development:
Solid HTML, CSS, and JavaScript skills, with the ability to navigate existing code and understand how changes affect the live site. - APIs and integrations:
Experience working with the Hub Spot or Word Press REST APIs, plus CRMs and marketing tools such as Salesforce, Zapier, n8n, Airtable, and Slack. - Technical audits and fixes:
Experience using Screaming Frog to audit Word Press and Hub Spot sites, interpret findings, and resolve technical issues. - Code review and cleanup:
Comfort working within Word Press and Hub Spot codebases to identify legacy or unused JavaScript and CSS, determine what’s still needed, and safely remove what isn’t. - Async communication:
Clear, timely written communication, especially through Slack. - Independent work:
Strong time management and the ability to meet deadlines, flag blockers early, and keep projects moving without close supervision.
- Webflow development and auditing experience, including building a clean CMS structure.
- PHP development experience.
- Previous work at a marketing agency or with B2B SaaS clients.
- Familiarity with SEO and conversion best practices.
- Experience with Git and version control.
Success means delivering clean, reliable development work that helps our team turn marketing plans into live client experiences.
- Designs, campaign concepts, and SEO requests become functional pages in Word Press and Hub Spot.
- Technical audit findings lead to practical fixes, with changes tested to avoid breaking existing functionality.
- Legacy and unused code is cleaned up thoughtfully, while essential code and front-end behavior remain intact.
- Forms, templates, and integrations work as intended and support the client’s marketing workflows.
- Projects stay on track because you manage your workload, meet agreed deadlines, and raise questions or blockers early.
- Teammates have clear visibility into progress through timely updates and straightforward communication in Slack.
