Gymnastics Canada (Gym Can) is the national governing body for the sport of gymnastics in Canada, overseeing all Olympic disciplines including men’s (MAG) and women’s (WAG) artistic, rhythmic (RG), trampoline (TR), and the other world level disciplines. WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Program Director, WAG is responsible for the overall management and coordination of the High Performance and National Team programs. The role ensures the effective planning, delivery, and evaluation of Gymnastics Canada’s High-Performance strategy in alignment with the organization’s strategic and operational plans. The Program Director serves as a key liaison between Gym Can, P/TSOs, clubs, and international partners to support athletes, coaches, and program excellence.

Program

Direction
  • Lead the day-to-day implementation of Gym Can’s WIN+ strategy.
  • Align the High-Performance strategy in collaboration with the Senior, Director, High Performance.
  • Direct planning, logistics, and reporting for National Team projects, training camps, and competitions.
  • Support education, training environment and planning, PSRI, mentorship plans and Safe Sport initiatives.
  • Ensure alignment of programming with Gym Can’s long-term athlete development and High Performance frameworks.
  • Ensure continued development of National Team athletes and coaches.
Leadership and Collaboration
  • Collaborate closely with High Performance team to ensure coordinated planning, effective communication, and unified delivery of the WIN+ strategy.
  • Collaborate with the Director, Communications, Marketing and Events to promote program success and visibility.
  • Collaborate with with the Sport Development Department on educational initiatives (NCCP & LTD).
  • Provide mentorship and operational support to coaches, team leaders, and other program staff.
  • Ensure that all program activities align with Gym Can’s values, policies, and safe sport principles.
Ecosystem Engagement
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with national and provincial partners.
  • Liaise with FIG, PAGU, Sport Canada, COC, OTP, CSI, and other organizations as directed by the Senior Director, High Performance/CEO.
High Performance Administration
  • Oversee selection procedures, athlete tracking systems, and documentation related to national team operations.
  • Manage administrative and financial operations of the program, including budget preparation, tracking, and reporting.
  • Collaborate closely with the Senior Director, High Performance and Finance Department on budget forecasting and reconciliation for the program.
  • Manage the High-Performance Coordinators, contractors, PSRI, and technical committees to ensure effective delivery of program operations and support.
  • Maintain communication and reporting with Sport Canada’s Athlete Assistance Program, Own The Podium, and other funding partners as directed.
Event Oversight
  • Provide technical leadership to the Local Organizing Committees for Gym Can-hosted national and international events, ensuring technical and operational excellence.
WHO YOU ARE
  • Bachelor’s degree, with a specialty in Sport Management or a related field.
  • Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in High-Performance Sport Program leadership.
  • Technical experience in the sport of gymnastics, ideally as a coach.
  • Strong understanding of Women’s Artistic Gymnastics.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets and complex projects with competing priorities.
  • Strong understanding of the Canadian sport system and Gymnastics Canada’s High-Performance framework.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is preferred.
LOCATION

Position is remotely based for candidates in Ontario or Quebec. Domestic and international travel is required.
