British Gymnastics has the following permanent full-time post:Events Manager
37 hours per week
Salary range £37,299 to £39,824 per annum (dependent upon experience)
31 days annual leave (including Company days) + Bank Holidays,+ 2 wellbeing days a year + weekly exercise and wellbeing hours
This is a dual based role working from home and at our head offices at Lilleshall National Sports Centre, , Shropshire
Please note that due to the nature of the role, there will be a requirement for travel, consecutive overnight stays away from home, and weekend working, when Events are scheduled.
The OpportunityWe are looking for an Events Manager (Pathway & Performance Programmes) who shares our passion and is ready to play a key role in delivering inclusive, high-quality gymnastics events for diverse communities across the UK.
Main responsibilitiesAs part of our dedicated Events Team, you’ll:
- Lead and deliver national competition events, working closely with delivery partners, clubs, volunteers, and venues.
- Create positive experiences by ensuring every event is safe, welcoming, and well-organised for participants, spectators, and staff.
- Coordinate planning and logistics, including venue bookings, equipment, volunteers, officials, accommodation, and marketing materials.
- Act as the onsite Event Manager, supporting a smooth and enjoyable event experience for all involved.
- Line manage and support the Events Officer & Events Systems Officer, providing day‑to‑day guidance, encouragement and professional development.
- Support the delivery of major gymnastics events, with a focus on inclusive practice and operational excellence.
- Champion safety and wellbeing, promoting British Gymnastics’ values and safeguarding standards at all times.

We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- Experience managing events or community programmes, ideally in a sport, leisure or arts setting.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to juggle priorities and adapt when needed.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills, including experience working with a wide range of people.
- A collaborative, solutions‑focused approach and a willingness to get involved at every level.
- Knowledge of gymnastics or other sport competition activities is preferable
- A relevant qualification in event management (or equivalent experience) is desirable but not required.
