Are you an aspiring local government leader looking to gain hands‑on experience in city management? The City of Scottsdale is offering a paid, full‑time opportunity for graduate students and recent graduate students to gain hands‑on experience in local government with a focus on city management.

The hourly rate for the Scottsdale Management Fellowship is $24 per hour and will last approximately 8 weeks. If you are interested from outside Maricopa County, there is an additional $3,000 travel stipend to accommodate travel and relocation needs.

• No experience required for this position.
• Must be currently enrolled or recently graduated within a year from an accredited college or university degree program in a field related to the department in which assigned.

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated (within the past year) from a graduate‑level program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated interest in local government management.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Commitment to learning and professional growth.

• Depending on assignment, must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted driver’s license with no major citations within the past 39 months prior to the start date. The Arizona Department of Motor Vehicles requires that out‑of‑state driver’s licenses be surrendered within 10 days of relocating to the State of Arizona.
• Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.
