NFM’s Transportation Planning Analyst II will encompass the planning and execution of all shipments to and from all facilities in North America, including Ports of Entry. Also responsible for daily capacity analysis of all orders generated by NFM. This position will optimize efficiency in load planning and determine the optimal number of delivery trucks for a given delivery date and receiving schedules for all regions.
In this role, you will have a direct impact in Customer loyalty. This is a remote position requiring the candidate to reside in NE, IA, MO, KS or TX.
Job Duties:
A Day in the Life
- Coordinate:
Execute inbound, inter-store, and outbound transportation plans, tender freight to carriers and manage transportation events to ensure customer satisfaction and a smooth hand-off to regional receiving teams - Set the Stage:
Enhance carrier utilization while maintaining company requirements for service and on time deliveries - Perform:
Maintain, update, and provide various Calendar reports to all levels of the company - Collaborate:
Work directly with Operations Managers, Delivery Providers, Routers, and Warehouse managers to keep delivery dates in conformance, add additional trucks and or bays, and work unique delivery instances - Be the Expert:
Serve as point of contact between supply chain and delivery providers to solve customer service issues

Qualifications:
Can You Check These Boxes?
- High school diploma/GED preferred
- 2-3 years of experience within the following activities:
Experience with transportation decision making with an eye towards tuning total cost, route/ lane efficiency and performance, speed, quality; transportation planning software including load optimization and lane decision making tools - 2-3 years load planning and capacity scheduling experience preferred
- Ability to read/interpret maps – required
- Candidate must possess practical business knowledge of transportation industry standards, including DOT transportation regulations and regulatory environment, and operational techniques for dispatching and shipment execution – required
- Proficiency with MS Office applications and web-based software- required
- Ability to analyze economics of various options based on numerical data and contractual requirements
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Strong planning, coordination, time management, communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to solve problems and make decisions in a timely manner
- Ability to work well under pressure and provide follow-up with strong attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work nights, weekends and/or early morning hours based on business needs
