Monday‑Thursday 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Starting Pay: $23.00 – $24.00 per hour (actual determined by skills, qualifications and experience)
Job SummaryAs a Transportation Coordinator you will handle the day‑to‑day execution of the transportation department, working with internal partners (Distribution Center, Home Office, Store Ops, etc.) and external partners (carriers, 3PLs) to monitor shipments and expedite efficient movement of TJX merchandise. You will support and elevate any high‑level challenges to your Transportation Supervisor/Manager and will have opportunities for growth through individual development plans, mentorship and cross‑functional exposure.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Support execution of cross‑dock and store deliveries, ensuring accurate shipping plans and schedules, including transportation optimization, return logistics and peak season strategies.
- Consistently deliver operational performance against established KPIs and budget, performing root‑cause analysis as needed and creating action plans to manage performance.
- Execute peak season plans/strategies to support the challenging needs of the business.
- Support the Transportation Manager/Supervisor with yard staffing, auditing, scheduling and loading responsibilities.
- Interact with field leadership, store operations, loss prevention and transportation providers to ensure overall execution of TJX service standards.
- Plan and communicate truck capacity requirements, ensuring an adequate supply of truck power and trailers.
- Ensure steady flow of inbound and outbound movements, resulting in timely arrival of merchandise to stores and maximum utilization of lowest‑cost carriers.
- Provide guidance and/or training to peer Transportation Coordinators when applicable.
- Audit yard management system for carrier/trailer accuracy.
- Build in‑depth working knowledge of Transportation Management Systems (e.g., Blue Yonder) to design, test and implement new configurations and parameters that drive efficiencies.
- Gather and maintain transportation and logistics master data.
- Support outbound transportation projects and initiatives as assigned or directed.
- Create and follow standard operating procedure (SOP) guides for outbound activities.
- Perform other tasks and duties as required or directed.
- Provide direction for miscellaneous outbound shipments (e.g., Misroutes).
- Validate and manage detention and bobtail situations.
- Prepare daily reports for senior leadership on trends, barriers and action plans to sustain strong partnerships.
- At least 1 year of related experience.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, not required.
- Analytical skills to identify trends, forecast and proactively adjust strategies.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with all levels of management.
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
- Great attention to detail.
- Proficiency in transportation, warehouse and yard management systems such as Blue Yonder (JDA).
- Ability to work the scheduled shift:
Friday‑Sunday 5 am‑5 pm and a flexible schedule to support business needs. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel (spreadsheets, formulas, data handling).
- Strong customer service and teamwork skills.
- Salary Range: $16.80‑$22.65
