Inbound Logistics Specialist – Ocean

Job Summary

Webstaurant Store, a Clark Associates company, is looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Logistics Specialist to join our Inbound Transportation Team within the Logistics Department. The role manages booking and container flow for inbound shipments, daily reporting, stakeholder relations, carrier rate and contract ownership, process improvement, and booking exception management.

• Manage internal and external stakeholder communication to ensure high service levels.
• Maintain and foster relationships with procurement, ocean carriers, booking agents, and freight forwarders to problem solve and provide additional support.
• Identify and execute process improvement initiatives to increase team efficiency.
• Identify and action opportunities for cost reduction in the network.
• Daily booking exception communication and problem solving through email.
• Daily reporting to monitor carrier performance, cargo ready date discrepancies, and other buyer/vendor communication challenges.
• Act as a subject matter resource to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with other teams to accomplish department goals.

• Work is performed while sitting/standing and interfacing with a personal computer.
• Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
• Requires regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
• Requires occasional bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
• Requires the ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 50 lbs.

• Reliable high‑speed internet connection (at least 75 mbps download/10 mbps upload); satellite connections are not supported.
• Home router and modem.
• Dedicated noise‑free home office space with strong wireless or wired Ethernet connection.
• Valid physical address (apartment, suite, PO Box not supported).
• Ability to work and communicate via chat, webcam, etc.
• Legal residents of one of the following states:
  Alaska, Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia, or Wyoming.
• No H-1B visa sponsorship; W2 only.

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in ocean import.
• Experience negotiating freight rates or service agreements with ocean carriers is a plus.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
