Schedule: Hybrid – 4 days in office, Fridays work from home
Overview
A growing freight forwarder in New Jersey is looking for an Import Export Coordinator with solid ocean freight experience and a real knack for building strong client relationships. If you like owning shipments A to Z and being the go to person for your customers, this role will feel like home.
What you’ll be doing
- Coordinate full A to Z ocean import and export shipments.
- Manage bookings, pricing, documentation, tracking, and billing.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through clear communication and reliable service.
- Work closely with clients to understand their needs and keep them updated throughout the process.
- Communicate with carriers and overseas agents to keep shipments on track.
- Prepare and review documents including BOLs, invoices, and arrival notices.
- Track shipments through final delivery and resolve any issues quickly.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate costing and timely invoicing.
What you bring
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on ocean freight experience in a freight forwarding environment.
- Strong customer service skills with a genuine focus on client satisfaction.
- Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Able to manage shipments independently from start to finish.
- Solid understanding of pricing, carriers, and vendor requirements.
- Air freight knowledge is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and comfort with operational processes.
