Scope of PositionEnsure that TRANSCON customers are served from/in the managing branch. Support the TRANSCON Lead/Supervisor in meeting customer requirements for all shipments while supporting other TRANSCON team members and management when needed.
Major Duties and Responsibilities- Master our customers’ standard operating procedures (SOP).
- Understand departmental process flow and identify best practices to improve operational efficiency and productivity.
- Collaborate with management.
- Monitor shipments in transit (Outbound Workflow, etc.) daily to ensure the following:
- Data integrity for events and references (APR, APT/XDD, RDL, SHI, SHR, etc.) is updated properly.
- Customer shipments are delivered per KPI’s, RDL’s and SOP’s.
- Exceptions are managed and resolved immediately.
- Communicate effectively and timely with customers, Expeditor’s offices worldwide, and co‑workers through email, phone, instant message, and in person.
- Provide daily status reports to customers, noting delays and reasons.
- Escalate problems to Management when necessary.
- Promote compliance and diligently follow all company policies and regulations with outstanding integrity and pride.
- Always meet regulatory compliance both internally and externally in accordance with government regulations.
- Knowledge of the Chicagoland area.
- Operations/Industry knowledge preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proven history of providing exceptional customer service at all levels.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills with a professional attitude.
- Positive attitude and background supported by compliments from customers and coworkers.
- Proficiency with MS Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and One Note.
