Customers need a team of experienced rail professionals on their team to help them navigate this landscape.

SUMMARY OF POSITION
:

The Rail Logistics Specialist (RLS) –
Evening Shift plays an important role in bringing all of the QTS products and services together, and works to manage the QTS-Client relationship. This service, unique in our industry, ensures that QTS resources and service offerings are aligned properly with the customer’s goals and expectations. The QTS Rail Logistics Specialist serves as a facilitator and problem solver, marshaling resources inside of QTS which brings both the customer and the railroad together to work in tandem to achieve success.

The Rail Logistics Specialist (RLS)- Evening Shift acts as the primary point of contact for all customer service inquiries and requests for QTS clients after normal business hours. In addition, the RLS – Evening Shift maintains EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) transmissions within our rail tracking system. They ensure errors are cleared, trips assigned, and discrepancies are confirmed with clients. RLS – Evening shift also manages customer data flows in our tracking system and works closely with rail carriers to resolve delays and issues during transit.

KEY RAIL LOGISTICS RESPONSIBILITIES:

To build positive relationships with the customers, railroads and support partners.
To assess the customer’s service issues throughout the rail operating environment (North America)
To prioritize, intercede and follow-up on customer service issues and requests with the appropriate party responsible as the customer expects.
To collaborate politely and professionally with Rail carriers concerning problem railcars and resolve delays or other transit deviations to their expected route plan.
To ensure the customer is well-informed of any problem cars and suggest/provide corrective plans of action.
To learn current and new technical skills to help the customer stay competitive and to help us stay contemporary
To maintain orderly records of all work completed, including problem logs.

PREFERRED SKILLS/

EXPERIENCE:

Ideal candidate must be disciplined and demonstrate aptitude for learning new business processes. Candidate must be comfortable in a well-paced team environment. Candidate must be able to exercise critical thinking and humility, communicate clearly in writing and in speech and possess positive personal relationship skills.

4-year college bachelor’s degree in any field required
1-3 years’ experience in customer service, transportation, or logistics desired
Excellent written and verbal communication skills Analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to multi-task
Adaptable to change
Rail experience is a plus.
