Schools Agency Services Admin Officer - Area 1
Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) is the largest of Scotland’s seven regional transport partnerships. As well as running the iconic Glasgow Subway, SPT delivers an extensive range of public transport services including bus stations and subsidised bus services, manages large transport infrastructure projects and is responsible for delivery of a long‑term multi‑modal transport strategy for the West of Scotland.
About the RoleWithin the Bus Strategy & Delivery department, focused on delivering and improving public transport provision in the west of Scotland, we have a great opportunity to join our Schools Agency Services & Compliance Team. Working collaboratively across SPT to support the aims set out in the Regional Transport Strategy, the Schools Agency Services Admin Officer will provide administrative assistance to the Schools Agency Services & Compliance Manager and the Schools Agency Services Team Leader.
The role involves monitoring and administering transport contracts within the Bus Strategy & Delivery Department, ensuring that the work is carried out in accordance with recognised procedures and guidelines.
You will have experience working with stakeholders and operators in a passenger transport environment to deliver value added services. You will have knowledge of school transport and robust service provision. You will be aware of current public transport policy objectives and the legislative framework within which SPT operates. Experience using modern technology, of preparation of contract tender specifications and management of contract activities are desirable.
Good interpersonal, communication and organisational skills are required, as is the ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities within strict time constraints.
Full‑time: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. You may be required to undertake work outside of this norm to meet post responsibilities. The role is based at 131 St Vincent Street, Glasgow. SPT operates a temporary hybrid working pattern allowing up to 40% home working (2 days per week).
This position falls into the ‘low’ risk category under the Alcohol and Drugs policy and is subject to for‑cause testing procedures.
