Transport Planner

We are looking for a Planner - Service Delivery Transport to join our team in Hatfield. This is a high-impact, fast-paced role where you will be responsible for creating the most cost-effective transport plans possible. You will balance operational KPIs with driver hours regulations, ensuring we have the right people and vehicles in the right place at the right time.

• Strategic Planning: Creating daily and weekly transport plans and rotas to meet Ocado’s transport needs.
• Operational Coordination: Scheduling drivers and trailers using various systems and spreadsheets to ensure a seamless dispatch profile.
• Compliance: Monitoring and ensuring 100% compliance with EU and UK Drivers’ Hours Rules and Regulations.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Working closely with Supply Chain, CFC, and Operational teams to coordinate inbound deliveries and resolve operational issues.
• KPI Reporting: Reporting on daily/weekly transport performance and managing LGV driver enquiries with a customer-service mindset.

• Detail-Oriented: Strong numeracy and literacy skills with an eagle eye for detail in a high-administration environment.
• Problem Solver: Ability to think on your feet and solve logistical challenges in a high-pressure, 24/7 operation.
• Tech Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Excel; previous experience with transport planning software is a plus but not essential (full training provided).
• Communicator: Confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels, from drivers to senior operational managers.
• Flexible: Willing to work a rota-based shift pattern (Monday to Sunday) to support our 24/7 business.
