Join our client's expanding North American team as a Logistics Specialist
, fueling growth in the US and Canada food/feed sectors through seamless supply chain solutions. This fully remote role is perfect for GTA or Southwestern Ontario talent with robust Sea freight Forwarding and Ground/Rail transportation expertise.
- Coordinate comprehensive supply chain logistics: manage procurement, multi-modal transportation (ocean containers, trucking, rail), warehousing, and efficient product distribution across North America
- Liaise with logistics providers, carriers (including steamship lines, rail operators like CN/CP), customers, and warehouses; perform daily tracking, tracing, and issue resolution at ports/terminals for smooth FCL container movements
- Oversee freight portfolios, databases, purchase/sales/inventory records, documentation, claims processing, and real-time order visibility; ensure accurate cost/revenue entry and billing support
- Deliver top-tier customer service, handling inquiries, expediting rush orders, turning complaints into successes, and monitoring KPIs like service levels and on-time delivery
- Collaborate globally under senior Logistics Specialist supervision, reporting to Managing Partner; contribute to SOPs, process improvements, and team training initiatives
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in logistics/supply chain; proven experience in international logistics, essential sea freight forwarding, ocean imports/exports, and ground/road transportation
- Minimum 3-5 years in freight forwarding/trucking dispatch; advanced MS Office skills (esp. Excel), familiarity with Canadian ports, rail/port procedures and operating systems
- Commercially astute, accurate administrator with strong analytical/problem-solving abilities; excellent communicator who thrives independently yet excels in fast-paced, team environments
- Proactive initiator with resilience, adaptability, curiosity for learning, and proficiency in multitasking amid changing priorities
