About the role
We are recruiting 2 full‑time drivers on a 37.5 hour contract, Monday to Sunday covering hours between 0600‑2200. The roles cover linen delivery, specimen delivery, pharmacy deliveries and patient transfers, plus other ad‑hoc work. As an NHS driver you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare services by transporting patients, medical supplies and specimens.
Responsibilities- Deliver medical supplies, equipment and medications to NHS sites.
- Perform daily vehicle checks (oil, fuel, tyre pressure, cleanliness).
- Adhere to safety protocols, including infection control procedures.
- Maintain accurate delivery and mileage records.
- Assist patients with mobility issues and ensure their comfort during transport.
- Communicate effectively with staff, patients and families.
- Plan own day‑to‑day tasks and manage workload to maximise efficiency.
- Respond promptly to on‑site customer enquiries and problem‑solve as required.
- Stay within timed schedules, work unsupervised, and use initiative.
- Keep vehicle clean and safe, including loading/unloading goods and patients.
- Full clean UK driving licence.
- Experience with 3.5 tonne tail‑lift vehicles.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Professional dealing with staff and the public.
- Willingness to work additional hours for holidays and sickness.
- Collaboration skills with other transport colleagues on ad‑hoc assignments.
- Physically fit to move patients in wheelchairs and heavy equipment.
- Good driving practice, awareness of road traffic regulations and safety.
- Effective communication and teamwork.
- Ability to work unsupervised and demonstrate initiative.
- Time‑management and prioritisation skills.
- Manual handling competence; clean driving licence for up to 7.5 tonne.

Under current Home Office Immigration Rules we are currently unable to offer right‑to‑work visa sponsorship for Band 2 and 3 roles with a salary of less than £25,000 pa, as they do not meet the UK Visas & Immigration criteria.
