POSITION OVERVIEWCoordination of the aircraft maintenance activities in the northern/remote bases.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Assist in employee recruitment, performance evaluation, promotion, retention, and termination activities
- Enhance communication between crew chiefs and crews
- Implementation of processes for the base
- Evaluation of base operations and suggest avenues of improvement
- Daily monitoring of MEL and AOGs to ensure efficient operations
- Co‑ordination of parts for efficient operation
- Actively reviewing flight delays to improve operations
- Approving expense claims
- Organize training
- Schedule replacement/additional manpower for all maintenance bases and ensure maintenance activities are coordinated and effective
- Carry out regular base visits
- Hold a valid M1 and/or M2 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer license
- Have acquired a minimum of six years’ experience in the performance or direct supervision of maintenance activities
- Have successfully completed the qualifying exam for AMO certification privileges
- Be familiar with the appropriate parts of the MPM, MCM, aircraft operations specifications and maintenance manuals necessary for the performance of duties
- Know the provisions of the Aeronautics Act, the Canadian Aviation Regulations and applicable Standards necessary for the proper performance of duties
- Must be able to obtain and maintain airport security clearance including a driver’s airside permit
- Must be bilingual
Work location – Air Inuit Technical Center – Montreal‑Trudeau airport
37.5 hrs per week with possibility of hybrid schedule, working from home 1 day per week.
COMPENSATIONAnnual salary range (CAD $115,118–$166,398) commensurate with experience.
