Logistics and Transportation Coordinator Summary of responsibilities

The Logistics and Transportation Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the transportation of equipment, materials, and supplies for mining development operations. The incumbent will work closely with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure efficient and cost‑effective domestic and international transportation activities.

Under the supervision of the Lead of Logistics, the coordinator ensures that all shipments comply with customs regulations, company policies, safety standards, and project schedules while supporting operational continuity at remote mining sites.

Transportation Coordination
  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments by road, air, sea, and rail.
  • Work with freight forwarders to organize import and export operations.
  • Schedule and track deliveries to mining sites, warehouses, and project locations.
  • Ensure timely transportation of critical equipment and operational supplies.
  • Monitor shipment status and proactively resolve transportation issues or delays.
  • Act as the main point of contact for freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers.
  • Request and evaluate transportation quotations and service proposals.
  • Negotiate transportation costs, lead times, and service agreements when applicable.
  • Maintain strong relationships with logistics service providers.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and service quality.
Customs & Documentation
  • Prepare, review, and manage shipping documentation, including:
    • Commercial invoices
    • Packing lists
    • Bills of lading
    • Export/import documentation
    • Certificates of origin
  • Coordinate customs clearance activities with brokers and freight forwarders.
  • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and customs requirements.
  • Maintain accurate transportation and shipping records.
Operational Support
  • Collaborate with procurement, warehouse, project, and operations teams to support logistics requirements.
  • Prioritize shipments based on operational and project needs.
  • Provide regular shipment updates and logistics reports to stakeholders.
  • Track transportation costs and support budget monitoring activities.
  • Maintain logistics data in ERP or transportation management systems.
Inventory & Site Logistics
  • Coordinate movement of heavy equipment, spare parts, and critical materials.
  • Monitor in‑transit inventory and delivery schedules.
  • Organize transportation to remote mining camps and operational sites.
  • Support receiving and delivery coordination with site personnel.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or certificate in Logistics, Supply Chain, Administration, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in logistics, transportation coordination, or administrative support.
  • Basic knowledge of domestic and international shipping processes.
  • Experience working with freight forwarders, carriers, or customs documentation is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage changing priorities.
  • English and French required.

  • The position will be based at the G Mining Services office in Brossard.
  • 5 Minutes walk from REM Station “DuQuartier”.
  • Possibility of working in hybrid mode (office and remote work).
