About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Remote Transportation Specialist to manage and streamline their transportation logistics from a home-based setting. This role involves coordinating the movement of goods, optimizing transport strategies, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. You will work closely with internal teams, carriers, and clients to facilitate efficient and cost-effective transportation solutions. Key Responsibilities- Plan, coordinate, and monitor the shipment of goods across various modes of transport.
- Optimize transportation routes and schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Manage relationships with third-party carriers and negotiate favorable rates and service agreements.
- Ensure compliance with all national and international transportation regulations and documentation requirements.
- Analyze transportation data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Serve as a point of contact for transportation-related inquiries and issue resolution.
- Proven experience in transportation management , logistics, or supply chain operations.
- Strong understanding of various transportation modes, including road, rail, and air freight.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in using transportation management systems (TMS) and related software.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, suitable for a remote role .
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
