About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly analytical and proactive Remote Transport Planner to join their team, focusing on optimizing transportation strategies for their operations throughout the Western Cape, including the Stellenbosch area. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in logistics and route optimization to design efficient transport plans, manage carrier relationships, and ensure cost-effective delivery of goods. Working entirely remotely, you will utilize sophisticated planning software and data analysis to enhance fleet performance and meet customer demands.

• Develop and implement optimized transport plans considering factors like route efficiency, delivery windows, and cost.
• Analyze transportation data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost savings and service improvements.
• Manage relationships with external carriers and transport providers, negotiating contracts and ensuring compliance with service agreements.
• Utilize advanced transport management systems (TMS) and planning software to model and execute transport strategies.
• Monitor transport operations in real-time, responding effectively to disruptions and making necessary adjustments to plans.
• Collaborate with internal departments, including sales and operations, to align transport plans with business objectives.

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in transport planning, route optimization, or logistics management.
• Proficiency with transport management software (TMS) and route planning tools.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data sets.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills for managing carrier relationships.
• Self-motivated and disciplined, with the ability to work effectively and independently in a remote setting.
