About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly organized and efficient Remote Dispatcher to manage the coordination of our transport services. Operating remotely, you will be the central point of contact for drivers, customers, and internal stakeholders, ensuring seamless scheduling and execution of deliveries and pickups. This role is crucial for maintaining operational flow and customer satisfaction, requiring exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, utilize advanced dispatch software, and contribute to the overall efficiency of our logistics network from a remote location.
- Coordinate and schedule daily transport operations, assigning drivers and vehicles to specific routes and tasks.
- Monitor driver locations and progress in real-time, proactively addressing any delays or issues that arise.
- Communicate effectively with drivers via radio, phone, or messaging systems to provide instructions and updates.
- Handle customer inquiries and requests related to dispatch and delivery schedules efficiently.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date dispatch logs, records, and operational reports.
- Collaborate with the logistics team to resolve operational challenges and optimize resource allocation.
- Proven experience as a dispatcher, preferably in the transportation or logistics industry.
- Strong understanding of dispatching principles and route planning.
- Excellent communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using dispatch software and other relevant communication tools.
- Ability to remain calm and make quick, effective decisions under pressure.
- Must have a reliable internet connection and a dedicated workspace for remote operation.
