Transport Manager

An established and growing freight forwarding business is looking for an experienced Transport Manager to build and manage its new transport division in Colchester
. The company has recently acquired its Operator's Licence and brought its first vehicles in-house, with further growth planned. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants autonomy and the chance to build a transport operation from the ground up.

• Take full ownership of a new transport division.
• Manage a small commercial vehicle fleet, initially around 5-6 vehicles
  .
• Manage drivers, including agency drivers.
• Oversee scheduling, vehicle utilisation and daily operations.
• Ensure full compliance with the Operator's Licence and transport legislation.
• Develop processes and procedures for the new division.
• Identify opportunities to bring more work in-house.
• Work closely with the existing freight forwarding and operations teams.
• Help grow the transport operation as the business expands.

• Previous experience as a Transport Manager
  .
• Valid Transport Manager CPC
  .
• Strong knowledge of transport compliance and legislation.
• Experience managing commercial vehicles and drivers.
• Confident working independently and taking ownership.
• Proactive, dynamic and commercially minded approach.
• Ability to build and develop a transport operation from the ground up.
• Freight forwarding, haulage or courier experience is beneficial but not essential
  .

• 45,000- 55,000 basic salary
  , depending on experience.
• Performance-related bonus.
• Full-time or part-time considered.
