Remote Regional Transport Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking an analytical and experienced Remote Regional Transport Planner to oversee and optimize transportation routes and schedules for their operations serving the Upington region and surrounding Northern Cape areas. This fully remote role involves strategic planning to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and timely movement of goods. You will work closely with drivers and operational managers to develop effective logistics strategies, manage resources, and adapt plans to changing conditions.

This is a key position requiring strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of regional logistics challenges to support our remote workforce and ensure service excellence.

• Develop and optimize daily, weekly, and monthly transport plans and schedules for the Upington region.
• Analyze route data, delivery times, and operational costs to identify areas for efficiency improvements.
• Coordinate with drivers and dispatch teams to ensure adherence to planned routes and schedules.
• Manage vehicle allocation and resource deployment to meet operational demands effectively.
• Stay informed about regional transport regulations, traffic conditions, and potential disruptions.
• Generate reports on transport performance, costs, and efficiency metrics for management review.

• Proven experience in transport planning, logistics coordination, or a similar role, with strong analytical capabilities.
• Proficiency in using transport management software, route optimization tools, and related technologies.
