About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly organized and proactive Remote Fleet Operations Manager to oversee their expanding transportation fleet. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficiency, safety, and compliance of all fleet operations, entirely from a remote work environment. You will be responsible for managing dispatch, optimizing routes, maintaining vehicle records, and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards. This position requires exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, coupled with a deep understanding of logistics and fleet management software.
You will be a key player in shaping the operational strategy and driving continuous improvement across the business, fostering a collaborative spirit among remote team members and external stakeholders.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for fleet operations to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
- Manage daily dispatch operations, ensuring timely and effective vehicle and driver assignments.
- Monitor driver performance, adherence to schedules, and overall compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Utilize fleet management software to track vehicle maintenance, fuel consumption, and operational KPIs.
- Oversee accident investigations, insurance claims, and ensure all safety protocols are rigorously followed.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams and external vendors to ensure the optimal condition and availability of the fleet.
- Proven experience in fleet management or a similar logistics/transportation role.
- Strong understanding of transportation regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in fleet management software and GPS tracking systems.
- Excellent remote communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage a distributed team.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement operational improvements.
- A bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
