Freight Forwarder

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Freight Forwarder to join their international logistics team, operating remotely and supporting operations for the Sandton region. This role is pivotal in coordinating the movement of goods across international borders, managing all aspects of shipment documentation, customs compliance, and carrier coordination. You will ensure timely, cost-effective, and secure delivery of freight worldwide. • Arrange and track international and domestic shipments via air, sea, and land freight.
• Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and invoices.
• Liaise with customs brokers, airlines, shipping lines, and trucking companies to ensure smooth transit.
• Negotiate rates with carriers and service providers to achieve cost efficiencies.
• Monitor shipments, identify potential delays, and proactively communicate solutions to clients and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with all international trade regulations and customs requirements.

• Proven experience as a Freight Forwarder or in international logistics coordination.
• Strong understanding of international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and Incoterms.
• Proficiency in using freight forwarding software and tracking systems.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and prioritize tasks effectively in a remote environment.
• A relevant certification or degree in logistics or international trade is advantageous.
