About the Role
Our client is seeking a strategic and analytical Remote Logistics Planner to join their expanding team. This role is critical for optimizing the movement of goods across our client's extensive network, focusing on efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and reliability. You will be responsible for developing optimized routes, managing transportation resources, and ensuring that all logistical operations align with company objectives. Working entirely remotely, you will contribute to the seamless functioning of the logistics and warehousing operations from anywhere, serving the needs of clients across Bloemfontein and nationally.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement optimal transportation plans and routes to minimize transit times and costs.
- Manage carrier relationships, negotiate freight rates, and monitor carrier performance.
- Analyze transportation data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and safety standards.
- Collaborate with warehouse teams and other stakeholders to coordinate inbound and outbound logistics.
- Utilize logistics planning software and tools to manage shipments and track progress effectively.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in logistics planning, transportation management, or supply chain operations.
- Strong knowledge of transportation modes, freight management, and logistics software (e.g., TMS).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a remote environment.
