Remote Fleet Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Remote Fleet Manager to oversee their transportation fleet operations. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficiency, safety, and compliance of all vehicle movements across the company's network. You will be responsible for managing vehicle maintenance schedules, optimizing routes, ensuring driver compliance, and analyzing fleet performance data to drive cost savings and operational improvements.

As a fully remote position, you will have the flexibility to manage these critical functions from anywhere, impacting the logistics and warehousing operations serving regions around Nelspruit.

• Develop and implement strategies for efficient fleet operations, including route planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Oversee vehicle maintenance programs to ensure vehicles are safe, reliable, and compliant with regulations.
• Manage driver schedules, performance, and compliance with company policies and transportation laws.
• Monitor fleet performance metrics, analyze data, and generate reports to identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency gains.
• Ensure all fleet operations adhere to safety standards, environmental regulations, and legal requirements.
• Manage relationships with third-party service providers, such as maintenance shops and fuel suppliers.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet management or transportation operations.
• Proven track record in managing large vehicle fleets and optimizing logistics operations.
• Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance, DOT regulations, and transportation safety best practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in fleet management software.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage a remote team effectively.
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
