About the Role
Our client is seeking a dynamic Logistics Coordinator & Delivery Specialist to manage and execute delivery operations in the Cape Town area. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient flow of goods from origin to destination, coordinating drivers, optimizing routes, and resolving any logistical challenges that arise. You will play a key part in maintaining high customer satisfaction through timely and accurate deliveries.
The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and possesses a keen understanding of supply chain and transportation management within the Western Cape region.
- Coordinate daily delivery schedules, assigning routes and vehicles to drivers.
- Monitor delivery progress in real-time, proactively addressing any delays or issues.
- Liaise with customers, warehouses, and transport partners to ensure smooth operations.
- Optimize delivery routes using logistics software to minimize travel time and fuel costs.
- Manage delivery documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness for all shipments.
- Conduct regular performance reviews of delivery staff and provide constructive feedback.
- Proven experience in logistics coordination or a similar role within the transportation sector.
- Familiarity with route planning software and fleet management systems.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with a strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving aptitude with a detail-oriented approach to managing operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
