About the Role

Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Transportation Specialist to join their team in Sandton . This role is vital for managing and optimizing the company's transportation operations, ensuring efficient and cost-effective movement of goods. You will be responsible for coordinating carriers, managing logistics documentation, and ensuring compliance with transportation regulations. This position offers a hybrid work model, allowing for a balance between focused remote work and essential on-site collaboration.

• Coordinate and manage daily transportation activities, including route planning and carrier selection.
• Negotiate rates and service level agreements with transportation providers.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation laws, regulations, and safety standards.
• Prepare and manage shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and invoices.
• Monitor shipment status, resolve transit issues, and communicate updates to stakeholders.
• Analyze transportation data to identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements.

• 3-5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management.
• Strong understanding of different transportation modes (road, rail, air, sea).
• Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and related software.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing remote and in-office responsibilities.
• A relevant degree or certification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management is a plus.
