Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Remote Delivery Route Specialist to design and manage optimal delivery routes for their fleet operations. Working remotely, you will leverage sophisticated software and analytical skills to create efficient, cost-effective, and timely delivery schedules. This role is crucial for maximizing delivery capacity, minimizing travel time and fuel costs, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate is highly analytical, proficient with routing technology, and capable of working independently to drive logistical improvements.
- Design and optimize daily delivery routes for a fleet of vehicles using specialized routing software.
- Analyze delivery data, including traffic patterns, delivery time windows, and vehicle capacities, to improve route efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to reduce mileage, fuel consumption, and driver overtime through effective route planning.
- Communicate route plans and any necessary adjustments to dispatchers and drivers.
- Monitor route performance and provide feedback for continuous improvement of routing strategies.
- Collaborate with operations management to address logistical challenges and implement best practices in route planning.
- Proven experience in route planning, logistics coordination, or a similar transportation role.
- Proficiency with route optimization software (e.g., Route4
Me, Onfleet, Google Maps API). - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent understanding of geographical areas and traffic dynamics.
