Remote Transport Planner

Our client is seeking a skilled and self-motivated Remote Transport Planner to manage and optimize their transportation network from anywhere within South Africa. This position is fully remote and involves planning, coordinating, and executing the movement of goods efficiently and cost-effectively. You will leverage technology and your expertise to design optimal routes, select appropriate carriers, and ensure timely deliveries across various regions.

• Plan and schedule all domestic transportation movements, optimizing for cost, speed, and reliability.
• Select appropriate transportation modes and carriers based on shipment requirements and service level agreements.
• Monitor shipments in transit, proactively identifying and resolving potential delays or issues.
• Analyze transportation data to identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless execution of transport plans.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers and logistics providers.

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in transport planning, logistics coordination, or a similar role.
• Proficiency with transport management systems (TMS) and route optimization software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, suited for remote interaction.
