Remote Dispatch & Fleet Coordinator

Our client, a national logistics firm, is pioneering a remote-first operational model and is actively seeking a highly organized and tech-savvy Remote Dispatch & Fleet Coordinator. This fully remote position allows you to manage fleet operations and dispatching from the comfort of your home, regardless of your specific location within South Africa, but ideally suited for those in or near regions like Mossel Bay, Western Cape .

You will be responsible for coordinating drivers, optimizing routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining communication across our distributed network. This role requires exceptional multitasking abilities, strong problem-solving skills, and proficiency with digital communication and fleet management tools. You are pivotal in ensuring seamless operations from a distance, demonstrating that operational excellence knows no geographical bounds.

• Coordinate daily dispatch activities for a fleet of drivers across various regions.
• Optimize delivery routes using specialized software to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Monitor driver performance and provide remote support and guidance.
• Maintain real-time communication with drivers via phone, email, and dispatch software.
• Proactively identify and resolve potential logistical challenges to prevent delays.
• Manage fleet scheduling, including vehicle maintenance appointments and driver assignments.
• Ensure all deliveries are completed within the stipulated time frames and according to company standards.
• Maintain accurate digital records of all dispatch activities, delivery confirmations, and fleet status.
• Collaborate with other remote team members and management to improve operational processes.
• Handle customer inquiries or escalations related to deliveries as needed.

• Proven experience in dispatch, fleet coordination, logistics, or a similar operational role.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively in a remote setting.
• Excellent proficiency with fleet management software, GPS tracking systems, and communication platforms.
• Strong understanding of logistics principles and route optimization techniques.
• Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey information remotely.
