Regional Delivery Fleet Manager

Our client, a national logistics powerhouse, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Regional Delivery Fleet Manager to oversee their fleet operations in the Bloemfontein, Free State region. This hybrid role requires a strategic leader who can balance on-site supervision with remote management responsibilities. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness of the entire delivery fleet, including driver management, vehicle maintenance, and route optimization.

The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of fleet management systems, and a proven track record in optimizing delivery networks. • Manage and direct all aspects of the regional delivery fleet operations in Bloemfontein, Free State .
• Oversee driver recruitment, training, scheduling, performance management, and compliance.
• Develop and implement strategies for fleet maintenance, ensuring vehicles are safe, reliable, and compliant with regulations.
• Monitor fleet performance using telematics and other management systems to optimize routes, reduce fuel consumption, and improve delivery times.
• Manage the fleet budget, controlling costs related to fuel, maintenance, insurance, and driver salaries.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation laws, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
• Investigate and resolve any incidents, accidents, or customer complaints related to fleet operations.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as sales, customer service, and operations, to align fleet activities with business objectives.
• Implement and promote a strong safety culture across the entire fleet team.
• Contribute to the strategic planning and expansion of fleet services within the region.

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in fleet management, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
• Proven experience managing a large fleet of commercial vehicles.
• In-depth knowledge of fleet management software, telematics, and reporting tools.
• Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance, DOT regulations, and safety standards.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and control operational costs effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing on-site and remote duties.
• Valid driver's license;
  Professional Driver's Permit (PDP) is a strong advantage.
